Cunnane Stratton Reynolds is a Town Planning and Landscape Architecture consultancy offering planning, development and design advice to a range of clients from our Dublin, Cork and Galway offices. Full details of the company’s services are outlined on the company website, www.csrlandplan.ie

The company is seeking to recruit a Graduate or Assistant Town Planner to join its Planning team in our Cork office, to meet an increasing and varied workload of EIAR, site appraisal and development management based projects nationwide. The successful candidates will be working on projects in the commercial development, residential and infrastructure sectors, and it is essential that candidates have relevant and recent experience in these sectors and an excellent understanding of planning and development law.

The successful candidate would be expected to:

  • Be a key part of the planning team in managing and scheduling workload and projects.
  • Present the practice to clients and potential clients.
  • Work as part of the Planning team to deliver project requirements.
  • Manage medium to large scale planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of the Irish planning system, and the interaction of relevant planning and environmental legislation, both national and European.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of associated environmental issues, such as AA, EIA / EIAR.

The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:

  • Project management of planning projects from inception to completion including interaction with project stakeholders, clients and other project team members;
  • Undertaking background research, desk studies, field visits and preparing planning assessments, reports and project planning inputs;
  • Efficiently managing interactions with project team members and sub-consultants;
  • Liaising with client representatives to progress projects effectively;
  • Finding solutions to planning challenges on projects;
  • Engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders in environmental and planning projects;
  • Delivering fit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines;
  • Reporting (prepare and/or compile information for weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Planning Directors i.e. job proposals issued, current projects, upcoming deadlines, etc.)

Skills:

  • Strong research and writing skills essential.
  • Understanding of Irish planning law, policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Full driving license is required.
  • Additional IT skills including knowledge of GIS and Adobe desirable.
